Summary
In today’s cloud-first, perimeter-less enterprise, traditional security models fall short. This presentation introduces Zero Trust as a modern framework built on three core principles: verify explicitly, enforce least privilege, and assume breach. With remote work, SaaS, IoT, and evolving threat vectors like credential abuse and insider risk, Zero Trust offers a strategic opportunity to reduce the blast radius, enhance visibility, and accelerate secure cloud adoption—without compromising user experience.
Zero Trust continuously verifies identity, device posture, and access privileges, applying dynamic policies and micro segmentation to protect data. Core tenets include contextual verification, just-in-time access, device health checks, and telemetry-driven decisions. A high-level reference architecture spans identity, devices, apps, data, policy orchestration, and analytics.
Comparing ZTNA to VPN highlights granular, per-app access and improved posture awareness. Data-centric security ensures access decisions are driven by classification, encryption, and DLP. The roadmap outlines phased implementation—from assessment to optimisation and governance.
