What do the Officer Roles Entail

To operate an ISC2 Chapter, there are four key officer roles with the following duties:
  • President: Presides over business meetings, ensures rules and regulations are followed, appoints and serves on committees, decides tie votes, and ensures all officers perform their duties faithfully .
  • Secretary: Keeps and maintains records of the organization, issues meeting notices, takes minutes at board and membership meetings, submits CPEs for attendance, manages correspondence, prepares reports for ISC2, schedules leadership meetings, and handles non-profit business documentation .
  • Treasurer: Manages chapter finances including keeping accurate records of receipts and expenditures, collecting and depositing dues and funds, and providing financial reports to the chapter board .
  • Membership Chair: Promotes membership growth, ensures smooth participation for new and potential members, maintains accurate and up-to-date membership records, and oversees recruiting for new members .
  • These roles are essential for the effective operation and governance of an ISC2 Chapter. Each position requires an individual to ensure the smooth running of specific administrative, financial, and membership functions within the chapter. In addition to these duties, the local management committee asigns other specific duties to promote the Chapter.

Key ISC2 resources for chapter operations include the Chapter Handbook and global chapter support initiatives
